Average total LoS is calculated on a patient level as:
• For patients without an observation area admission: The difference between the ‘arrivaldatetime’ and discharged from ED ‘DateTime’.
• For Patients with an observation area admission: The difference between the ‘arrivaldatetime’ and the discharged from observation area datetime.
• As above, if the record is still current, we will use the latest ‘extractdatetime’ instead of the discharge datetime.
• We then average the patient Lengths for each pod for all patients that were streamed or otherwise treated in that pod.
